A message from FPW founder Steve HD Evans

"Well it's been just over a week since my leg and ankle break now, and it has given me time to reflect on a few things, just after the break happened I lay there wondering how long it was going to take to get back, now I am just counting down the days, as a promoter and one third of the founding team of FPW the last year has brought so many emotions, so many talking points as well as so many new friends, but since the break it has just made me want more and more to get myself ready and fit again to return to the ring, there truly is no other feeling that getting into the ring and have people chant your name or FPW at you, and makes me thankful for the support and love that we get from the people who support us and the guys who turn up and churn out amazing matches, the whole team who make FPW shows as good as they do, just want to keep the ball rolling, keep the people smiling and ensure that we all stay safe and get home to our loved ones after every show.

Steve HD Evans"

Futuremania! Saturday May 5th

Keep an eye on the site. Tickets on sale soon.

Team HD vs The Lords of the Ring!

Heavy D returns, with Andy Boy Simmonz and Jimmy Havoc at his side. Can they defeat Sir Thomas Chamberlains's army of himself, Master Joel and Earl Johnathan?

The Bhangra Knights vs Jody Fleisch & Jonny Storm!

The Bhangra Knights have seen off the challenges of Breed and the LDRS, but can they deal with the returning 'Wonderkid' and the debut of 'The Phoenix'?

Rob Cage vs Terry Striker!

Cage left their last encounter on a stretcher, will he gain revenge against the former fan favourite, Terry Striker?

Greg Burridge vs The Warden!

The Warden has run roughshod through the FPW roster, but will he come unstuck against 'The Cockney Crusader'?

Bagheera vs Da Big J Dizzle!

'Big J' teamed with eXodus to get a victory last time out, can his winning streak continue against the popular Bagheera?

El Aquila vs eXodus vs Snare!

eXodus made a huge impact on his debut, but can he continue to dominate against Snare - who put Rob Cage out of action last time - and the return of the high flying luchadore, El Aquila?

Please come on out to Wallington Public Hall at 7pm on Saturday May 5th. Join us and celebrate a year of Future Pro Wrestling.

FPW Art Raffle/auction for Cancer Research UK

On Saturday May 5th Future Pro Wrestling will celebrate it’s one year anniversary with a show at Wallington Public Hall. For this show we’ve teamed with the charity Cancer Research and we’ll be donating the proceeds from our raffle on the night straight to the charity. Our raffle prizes always come from the amazing folks at A Place In Space comic book store in Croydon and this prize package looks set to be our biggest yet. What we’d like to do for this one, as it is our anniversary and the proceeds are going to Cancer Research, we’d like to get as many additional prizes in as possible. I’d also like to run an online raffle for the guys international guys on the forums and maybe a physical raffle from A Place In Space comic book store for original comic book art. We’d announce the winner from the ring on May 5th and it would be great to read out a huge amount of money raised for this very worthy cause. So if you’re an artist who’d like to contribute a comic book page or commission or you’re a collector who would like to donate a piece of art, please get in touch with me via direct message or at mburden17@googlemail.com
Once we have enough pieces in I’ll set up the paypal account and start a raffle thread from the 1st of April featuring all the prizes and prices for tickets.

Many Thanks

FPW Q&A...with Earl Jonathan Windsor!

1) How long have you been involved in professional wrestling and how did you first get started in the business?
I’ve been in wrestling for nearly 2 years. Getting started was quite an abrupt decision, I’ve always loved wrestling and one morning I just woke up and decided that I was going to do it! I then started looking at schools and went from there

2) Where and with whom did you train?
I started out with IPW under Tom Chamberlain and Jimmy Havoc and after a few months also began training at the London School of Lucha Libre with Greg Burridge and Garry Vanderhorne. I was lucky to have two very good schools within reach, and still go to both every week.

3) What do you remember about your first day of training – was it what you expected, how did you feel physically, what were the trainers like etc.
I was nervous about my physical fitness ahead of my first session so decided to spectate at a session, but spent the whole time just wanting to join-in. I came back the next week to take part and remember everyone being very friendly and willing to help me out, which was great. The next day, I was very sore but couldn’t wait to do it again.

4) When you were starting out, what were your ambitions in wrestling?
Pretty similar to what they are now – I wanted to be able to do pro-wrestling as a living and have a laugh doing it!

5) When did you have your first match, and how did it go?
My first match in front of an audience was about a year ago, and was actually at a car-boot sale in the middle of nowhere, with about 20 people watching on. The match itself isn’t going to go down as one of the all-time classics but I was there with a good group of people and had good fun doing it, so it was by no means a disaster. I like to think things have picked up from there!

6) What do family and friends think of your career choice?
Everyone has been really supportive, my family have definitely struggled to get to grips with what it is I’m doing and exactly why I’m doing it, but keep turning up to shows and supporting nonetheless! My friends outside of wrestling have really got behind it too and I think one or two of them are re-discovering a childhood love of wrestling!

7) Do you have another job outside of wrestling or is this what you consider your ‘main’ job?
During the week, 9-5, I’m a project manager for a management consultancy firm in Windsor, which is a pretty stark contrast to pro-wrestling!

8) What are your feelings on the state of the wrestling business in the United Kingdom?
It seems like it’s getting stronger and stronger at the moment. Hopefully this will continue and its popularity will keep growing – it would be great to see wrestling in the UK go some way to re-establishing its former standing.

9) When you are not training, travelling or wrestling, what do you do to relax?
I really enjoy going to gigs and the cinema but more often than not, if I’m not training, wrestling or working I’m probably flaked out in front of the TV.

10) Finally, where do you see yourself in 2 years time?
Hopefully still wrestling, over the last six months I seem to have been picking up a bit of momentum, so hopefully that continues and then…who knows?!
